
A RMT is a hybrid plan featuring:
Lifetime benefit with professionally invested, pooled assets (as in defined benefit plan)
Fixed costs (as in a defined contribution plan)
Fixed pre-tax contributions made to RMT during active employment. Contributions held in trust and
professionally managed/invested
Retired employees will receive lifetime TAX-FREE monthly reimbursements for medical
expenses/premiums
Actuary determines the appropriate level of monthly benefits to ensure stability, based on expected
future contributions and investment earnings; benefit level will vary based on investment returns and
RMT plan experience.
